Daddy's Girl

We have finally had a weekend of sunshine and warm weather. Anastacia has been busy helping her dad paint the boat and mow the lawn. Today she helped me weed some of the garden and than played away the day with her friends.
Tonight she and dad had a soccer scrimmage,"shes got some moves".
We took a drive to see the wild bunnies at Pembroke beach. We also saw two girls swimming in the ocean, brrrrrrr.

Oh the long and lazy summer days that lie ahead!

Happy Mothers Day! Mom

A MOTHER...

When you're a child she walks before you,
To set an example.

When you're a teenager she walks behind you
To be there should you need her.

When you're an adult she walks beside you
So that as two friends you can enjoy life together..

I love it when She calls me Daddy!

Well hello everyone, as I sat down this am to post I reflected back for a moment of our journey to and back from Ukraine. It was an incredible journey and I have memories to last a life time with all that took place. I must admit that I kind of miss posting on a daily basis. It was really neat to have this avenue, in the first place , to keep you all up to date and in the second place , an avenue to just vent ones feelings. I kind of thought once we got home it would stop , the blog and all. I knew there would be a few updates once home but by now it would be a thing of the past. Anyway here I am 2 months later making an entry.
This may be the last for me as I suspect Debbie may continue on ?? I'm going to end with some thoughts of what its like to be a daddy all over again. When we first began our journey down this road over 2 years ago now I certainly never could imagine all that we would encounter along the way. Once the resolve to do this was there there was no turning back for us, although a few times we did have to regroup and get back in the huddle so to speak. Well here we are , home and adjusting to this revamping of our family. It has been and still is a challenge in many ways but it has been so worth it all. Make no mistake about it, she is here to stay and we are gratefull for the priveledge that is now ours in the raising of this precious little girl.
With all that has taken place the thing that continues to touch my heart to the core is simply when she calls me daddy. For me it happened early on and I remember the first time it happened, it was music to my ears. Even now it brings a smile to my face and a joy in my heart to here her say daddy with that little Russian accent.
I want to thank our boys for loving on her and making her feel at home. I also want to thank our extented family for all they have done in this regard, you have all been awesome. We knew from the beginning the support that we had and you have only validated what we knew to be so. As well I want to thank all of you out there that have been in our corner from the beginning. There are way too many of you to name but you know who you are. We love all for just being there for us. Certainly I would be amiss if I didn't thank our Lord and Savior for being there and overseeing the whole thing and giving us the strength to see this through, thank you Jesus.
Lastly I want to thank Anastacia, my little angel who has brought such joy into my life. I can't imagine life without her now.

Showered with love!

The girls in my bible study group hosted a party at our church to welcome Anastacia. It was an awesome evening and I just want to thank those that came for their generousity. Anastacia was dealing with some social anxiety before the party but recovered quickly and had a ball opening gifts. By the end of the evening she was practically doing cartwheels around the church. She even partook of a couple of hugs which was a big step for her.
Our church family is the" best" , your love and prayers have encouraged us along our way.

Thank you :)
