Good am everyone from upper Canada. As you probably already realize we are indeed FINALLY home, and yes how SWEET it is. I got to tell you a hot tub and a beer wasn't too hard to take when we arrived here at my sisters in Oakville. We forced ourselves to stay up last night even though our bodies wanted to crash. By the time we finally called it a day it was around 10:30 pm here which made it 5:30 am on our Ukrainian clock. Anyway did sleep well and ready to catch our early pm flight back to good ol' Nova Scotia.
I can't really describe to you all the feelng of actually being home, mere words don't seem enough somehow. There will be much time for reflection of all the past 7 weeks have held for us, but all that really matters is we came home with quite a treasure for our efforts. I'm so gratefull to be living this impossible dream out. It truly gives even more meaning to the the promise, { That with God, all things are possible.}Our little Nastya will be like a fish out of water for awile as she contends with the language barrier. I expect to be hearing a lot of her saying, { ya ne panimaete}, which in Russian means, I don't understand. Thats ok, the main thing we want her to understand is that she has a new home, a new family, and a new country to call her own and that she is loved.
We can't wait to get home and catch up with the rest of our family, it ought to be a nice reunion. I know a few days have past since you have heard from us , its just in the last end we didn't have access to the internet. There will be much to share as the days unfold for us and maybe we'll keep it going for a bit just to keep you all informed. I had an idea the other night and thought it would be good for Debbie and I to have tee-shirts made up that say, We Survived Ukrainian Adoption. Then I thought we'll get a bunch made up and include you all as so many of you have been along on our journey. All in all just excited to be home and can't wait to see you all soon. Thanks to my son Ryan for posting Nastya's pic, we will have more to follow later on. Love to all, Randy

Thought I'd send along a little note in this forum instead of the regular e-mail as I suspect it will be too full to even attempt to get through all the e-mails you must have after a 7 week absense.
After I got home from taking you to the airport, I went to the guest room to strip the beds. When I picked up Anastacia's pillow; I found several pretty hairclips and the portable cassette player we gave her to help her sleep last night. I had told her it was for her and she seemed so pleased. I was so sad to see it left behind knowing she got such joy from it and might need it to sleep. I will be fowarding it on to you. I thought others reading this would get a kick out of knowing she is still squirelling her possessions away under her pillow. She'll probably do that for a while.
We are so excited for you as you begin this next phase of the adoption journey. God has blessed you greatly to bring you to this point - I'm sure He has great things in store for you and dear little Anastacia. He would not have brought you through so much, for so long without special blessings in mind. It will be interesting to see His plan work its way out in your lives.
I'm so extremely proud of you both for the complete Christ-like selflessness you have displayed thus far. To God be the glory - great things he hath done!
Thanks for the beautiful card and words you left behind and the special Ukrainian souvenirs.
Miss you!
Laura
WELCOME, WELCOME, WELCOME home.
I hope you get a few days to yourselves to recoop and relax before you officially get into the swing of things. Mac and I are off to Mexico on Saturday for some sun and relaxation ourselves. Hope to see you and your new daughter soon. I know she'll have a easy transition with the language barrier, kids are resilient that way. Anyway, you guys are so blessed, welcome home indeed!!!!
'til HE shouts
Jane
