Final Post

It will soon be 6 months since we met Anastacia but it feels as if she has always been here. How quickly we have become family and she has adapted to living in Canada.

She speaks in english sentences and is reading at about a grade one level. Hopefully we will have her up to speed at grade 3 by September when she will be starting public school. Homeschooling has been more fun for me than for her and I find if we aren't real consistant, she will fuss about doing her work.

This past week she got her first swimming badge at the YMCA and joined soccer. We took her to her first movie at the theatre and she was very excited about seeing Shrek on the big screen.

Her sleeping habits are improving which has helped us all be happier people in the daytime. Food can still be a challenge.
Anastacia loves being outside and loves having an aunt and uncle across the street, whom she visits every day and sometimes more than once a day. She now has a large extended family who all love her and enjoy spending time with her. Randy and I feel very fortunate to have the love and support and "hand me downs"of our family. :)

We are looking forward to a busy summer coming up. We hope to spend as much time as possible on the river in our boat and at the beach. Anastacia will probably go to vacation bible school and spend some days at day camp to get her used to school environment again. Her cousins from Ontario will be coming to visit in early July. There will be many new experiences for her and of course we will have a great time watching her expressions.

I'm sure the future will be exciting and also challenging for all of us, we feel very blessed to have Anastacia in our lives. We also are thankful that Ryan, Jared, Kim and Mitch have embraced Anastacia as a sister. We are really proud of you guys!

It has been fun blogging and If there is anyone reading that would like any information or help with adoption in Ukraine please email me at dbrh_ck@yahoo.com

Also please check out the "Hope House & First Step Center" link in the sidebar if you would like to support "World Hopes" ongoing work in Ukraine to help street children and orphans.

Blessings,
Randy & Debbie
