Its been another day of progress but a long day as everything seems to move slowly. Maybee I am being over anxious and its my problem. While Debbie was busy doing some paper work I had a little one on one time at the orphanage today. Nastia and I just play , she has tons of energy and loves to play hard. She isn't making much eye contact with me yet and I guess this is par for the course. You see she has some recolection of a mom, even though she hasn't seen her more than once or twice over the past couple of years. Amazingly she still speaks of her natural mom and wonders about her. Now on the other side of the coin there is no mention of a dad in the picture, so the director in her orphanage has become the only dad in a sense she knows. I must say this diregtor is a very special guy and loves these children very much. The problem for him is that there are approx. 176 chidren in the facility so he has a huge task along with the workers there. So you see along comes Randy Cook with a smile wanting to just be her dad overnight. Its simply not going to happen that way, I knew that before this began but I now realize It may take quite awile. Hey just realizing this is much of the battle but at the same time I've already fallen in love with her. I trust in time once we are back home it will be much better. You have no idea just how good it feels to be posting to you right now. As much as anything for me its just to be able to express how I'm feeling and as well to know that you my family and friends are all in our corner. We think we are on scedule but its still early in the game. Thanks for all the comments please keep them coming as they mean so much to us.
Will somebody at the dairy please say hello to Robin for me , tell him I'm thinking of him and hope he is feeling much better after the operation. As well I trust that Donnie is a grampa twice over by now, hope everyone is well. Give our best to Tara and family. As well would somebody please let me know who is playing in the superbowl as I have know clue. Anyway I'll say goodbye for now, take care all of you on the West side, as well to all my Tim Horton girls, I would do anything for a large double, double right now.Take care Patrick, Nathan, Vic, and all the rest of you. Thanks for keeping and eye on everything back home for us Mom and Dad. Miss you all very much, Randy

Hi guys
Sounds like you are becoming acclimatized to the culture over there. Things are pretty quiet on the home front. Vic, Mike, Nathan and Hillary are running in a pack nowdays. They seem to be having lots of fun! We had Ryan over for supper on Sunday, told him we think we can add 40 lbs to his frame by the time you get home. Don't think he thought it would do much for his stage image! I will be passing through Port Hawksbury next Wednesday so will track down Mitch when I am there. Hope things continue to go well for you guys, and Randy, relax - I have yet to meet a female of any age who could resist your charm for very long! I predict your little one will be beaming up at you soon.

hey Randy, great to hear things are going well, watch out for them man holes though!! haha sorry man but I had a visual and couldn't help but lol, as long as you are OK thats the main thing : )
well would you beleive the Colts pulled quite an upset over the Patriots, they were down 21-3 and came back to win 38-34, great game indeed.(Manning = incredible)
jail ministry going very well, sharing the gospel of grace and peace is a wonderful privledge to say the least, there have been some great discussions with some of the inmates, they seem to be opening up some and (somewhat) embracing this message of the cross, the message of inclusion.
take care brother, looking forward to having you home!

Hey Randy & Debbie:
If any one can get through all this "paperwork and turmoil" you guys surely can. God hasn't carried you this far on this precious journey to slap you in the face now. Should we start looking for all those Barbies you are going to need now - it's amazing how well things have gone fro you and be patient though the rough spots - it will be so worth it. May God be with you one the final legs of this journey. See you back in Canada.

To set the record straight, I think that what you two are doing is awesome and I know that a daughter will bring you joy that you have not yet imagined. I understand that the ribbing I gave you about girls was perhaps a bit harsh. I have 4 and would have it no other way!! G Colquhoun
