Where are we?

Someone asked this question, which is funny because I've been asking myself the same thing and last night I looked it up on the map. Obviously we are in Ukraine and I new we were in the oblast(like province or state)of Dnipropetrovsk'k. But I have been a bit confused as to the exact spelling of the city we are in. The city is named Krivoy Rog and is pronounced Kree vee re. It is an industrial city with one of the largest metal factories in Europe. It is also the longest city in Europe, it is 130km long by 30 km wide.I posted a link on the side if anyone wants to check it out. I don't know how many orphanages there are here but the one we are at is called internat # 9 and I believe it houses 176 children that are all school age.
Our apartment over looks a baby orphanage which is about the size of an elementary school. Usually the baby orphanages house babys up to age 3 or 4. I would like to go over and have a look but I doubt they would allow it without a ton of paperwork. I may ask Natasha about it, she got back this morning.

Randy is along side posting about the difficult time that Nastya is going through, please keep our little girl in prayer as I know you all have been doing and I am so thankful for this. I was thinking yesterday about the fact that we have had an incredible journey here in Ukraine, finding Nastya and for the most part it has been smooth going, and I really feel a "peace that does pass all understanding" which I can only attribute to the prayer being offered on our behalf. I also trust that Nastya's meeting with her mom was something that needed to happen for Nastya to really feel free to come to Canada. As hard as this is for all of us right now, in the long run it will be for the best.

love, Debbie

Our prayers are also with all 3 of you there.
I thought I'd relate a little part of our experience if it can help you at all. We were exactly at your point,(just before court date) and then we found out that someone was trying to stop us from adopting little Christina. They had even called the Adoption Center and had tried to stop paperwork from being processed, and had made up stories about us and what we were planning on doing with a little girl! We about went berzerk with terror at the prospect of losing her. We prayed like we had never prayed before. And it felt like all we could do is meekly hold onto God's hand and surrender everything to Him to finish what He had started for us. It brought a real calmness to us as we were able to do that. As we now look back... it was a precious time. I credit the prayers of our friends and church back home too, that suddenly all that lady's objections to us just vanished! We did get Christina and we all lived happily ever after! haha

So we will pray that nothing hinders or slows your process and that it will all have a happy ending too. Nobody ever said Ukraine was easy!
Have a great day at court.

Keith here again. I followed all your links till I found some good maps of your city. I see that our city of Kherson (Ukrainian it's spelled Xepcoh)(and..yes we own it by now, lol) is just about 80 miles south and a little west of Krivoy Rog.
Heres the map link..

Hey Randy, Debbie @ Nastya:
Don't worry Randy we certainly haven't forgotten about you - just been busy - didn't have your website at home until tonight and couldn't get a free minute to drop you a line lately, but our thoughts and prayers have certainly been with you all.
We are now very busy shovelling snow - bet you miss that - we have had a nasty few days - worse than the snow itself was the wind blowing the snow around and making whit out conditions. Anyway - we will survive as we always do - jsut gives us something to complain about. Otherwise all is well here - got the guys to finally leave me extra chocolate milk in Shelb. Ran out a couple of times - brought some from Barr. and all, but oh well - I think everyone was just on a choc. milk kick for a few days. Jus goes to show you it's not the same without you (HAHAHA) and the girls are relly getting depressed, because noone aggravates them like you do - been pretty quite actually. Anyway - just wanted you to know tht we are thinking of you everyday and praying that things go well for you. Cindy and I are busy making a little something for your little girl when you all get home and we can't wait to see your pictures. Hope you are staying away from man holes and other obstacles like such. How are the shoulders holding out? All the best to you all and I'll try to post again more regularly. God Bless you again on this wonderful "journey" you are taking.

Okay - I'm back - just finised reading al the journals I haven't inthe past week or so and I must say you have had quite the interesting set of events going on - thought we were the only ones that had ice - should we start taking up a collection for you so you'll have money to come home with - maybe Debbie should take over there for you - And oh to have seen you in the circus - it really doesnt's surprize me that you actually ended up in the centre ring acting the clown - suits you quite well. Can't wait to go to work tomorrow and upate the girls - won't Tara, Kim, Doreen and Julie have a good laugh at your expense - I pity you when you get back to work, but I honestly can't wait - maybe you'll have to come in outside of work - cause cant see you getting out very quickly. News from the South Shore - nothing too exciting to tell you - nothing that stands out right now anyway - oh wait NS Power announced that the power rates are going up and Oh yea - milk prices went up oh and postage has gone up - now enough bad news - as much as I hate to talk about it - Cindy is going to Cuba on the 10th for a week and wants you to know that she won't have any ice to worry about sliiping on - maybe she'll bring something back for your little girl to put under her pillow. She'll certainly have room as they are taking a whole bag of things to just give away to the children there - she buys things all year just for that. purpose. Kim is busy with her wedding plans and all the girls have either joined the gym or weight watchers - all but me - cause I like my food too much for that and I don't need to fit in a wedding dress (been there done that) or a bridesmaid dress so all the power to them - cept they don't like to eat any good food now - boring!!! Anyway - my mind is blank - can't think of anything to say - don't tell anyone though - you might have to get Nadya a bigger pillow though - cause seems like she is getting quite full under there. So will sign off again and all the best again - God Speed in this last leg and hope things go smooth for you. Will post again soon.
